Flight Training
Part-141 Approved Training
The pilot certification courses mentioned on this page are FAA-appoved Part-141 courses.
To meet your individual needs, we also offer Part-61 training tailored to your specific goals.
Whether it's part 61 or 141, please call us at the pilot shop at (808) 837-7767 and speak to us about the training program that's just right for you.
FSH Discovery Flight
Ready to step up from the paper airplane?
So you've scoured our website learning what it takes to get your pilot's license, but don't know where to go from here. Consider taking a Discovery Flight! During this 30-minute introductory flight, your experienced Certified Flight Instructor will guide you through all the phases of flight--from taxi and takeoff all the way to landing! And the best part--we put you in the pilot's seat!
It is truly the best way to take that next step--and find your passion for flying.
Private Pilot Certification Course
Whether you are an aspiring airline pilot or just seeking the thrill of flying, everyone's flying career begins here: the Private Pilot certificate.
During your flight training, you will conduct around 25 training flights learning the basics of flying, including cross country flights to the outer islands. Because we have examining authority for the Private Pilot certificate, your final flight, or "checkride", is conducted in-house with our chief instructor--not with the FAA or a designated pilot examiner.
Part-141 Instrument Training
We offer an FAA Approved Part-141 Instrument Rating course.
The program has a number of advantages over Part 61 training:
Cost Savings--Under Part 61, pilots must accrue 50 hours of cross country PIC and 40 hours of hood time to complete the instrument rating. Under Part 141, students need only 35 hours of dual training.
Lower Total Training Time--Under Part 141, it is possible to complete your training in as little as 3-4 weeks.
Accelerated Flight Training
There are no shortcuts to learning how to fly...but there are efficiencies that can be realized through frequent and consistent training. If you have a limited amount of time to complete your training, we can provide "accelerated training" to help you meet your goal in the shortest time possible.
Our fastest times to date:
Private Pilot.....10 days
Instrument Rating.....11 days
0 to Commercial ASEL and AMEL....4 months
